The best ways to reach the three most
highlighted destinations in Dooars
are by train, by air, and by road.
By Train
There are a number of trains available
to reach the different forest destinations
in Dooars. New Jalpaiguri Station (NJP)
is the main connector to reach to the
national parks. It takes around 4 to 5
hours to reach several destinations in
Dooars forests.
Kanchankanya Express is the best train
to travel on this site. It starts its journey
from Sealdah station to Alipur Duar.
Travel duration is around
10:30 pm to 12:30 pm.
The nearest station to reach Buxa
Tiger Reserve is AlipurDuar.
The entry point of the national park is
Rajbhatkhawa, which is 11 Km away
from AlipurDuar station. It will take
around 15 to 20 minutes by taxi.

Jaldapara National Park’s way is simply
to start from Hasimara. It will take only
15 to 20 minutes from Hasimara Station
to the national park. You can easily avail
of prepaid taxi out from the station. Taxi
fare can be shared or you can book

If you want to reach Gorumara National
park, then the nearest railway station is
New Mal Junction. It is in Malbazar. Book
a prepaid taxi and reach the dense forest.
Along with the national park, if you want
to travel to Murti and Lataguri, it will take
only 30 to 40 minutes by pre-paid taxi.
Public bus transport is also therefrom
Malbazar.
By Air
If you want to travel by air, then Bagdogra
(IXB) It is the nearest airport. There are a
number of flights available to Bagdogra
from different places of India. You can
reserve a prepaid taxi from the airport to
reach the different national parks in Dooars.
The total distance is 115 Km, so it will take
around 2.5 to 3 hours to reach several
destinations including Gorumara, Buxa,
Lataguri, Jaldapara.
There is no sharing taxi service available
from the airport. If you want to avail bus from
Siliguri to Dooars which travels via Sevoke Road.
You are required to go down to PC Mittal Bus
Terminus in Siliguri, the direct buses will drop
you at your destination.
Another option is Tenzing Norgay Central Bus
Terminus, but the bus service is only till Jalpaiguri,
then again you need to change the bus. This
quite a less convenient one.
The tour operators can also arrange the cab for
you, which directly takes you to the national parks.
By Road
The NH-17 connects the Dooars destinations
Jaldapara National Park and Buxa Tiger Reserve.
The NH- 717 goes towards Gorumara National
Park then Murti and Lataguri. The distance from
Bagdogra to NJP is 18 Km. If you are thinking of
availing the bus then you need to match the
bus timings with the flight time. Generally, from 7
am to 7 pm the cab services are on.
Kolkata to NJP government and private bus services
are available. Near Bagdogra airport and
NJP stations, you can avail bus services and cab
services direct to several national parks in
Dooars. Popularly three different roadways people
usually avail.
The first one is Gajoldoba road, this is quite a less
traffic and beautiful scenic view road. This
road takes less time than the other ones.
Another most famous option is Sevoke Road which
is very popular and full of traffic, another popular the
third road goes through Jaldapara that enters
Lataguri Gorumara National Park and then goes
towards north to Murti and then Chalsa. The last
route is not very popular in cab services but the
bus service from Siliguri to NJP avail this way. If you
are traveling from Bagdogra airport then you can take
a convenient way through Sevoke road.
